Substantive Criminal Law
In the Autumn Semester, you will be introduced to areas of Substantive Criminal Law (general section of the Swiss Criminal Code) and Procedural Criminal Law.
Learning objectives
The course introduces students to the fundamentals of Criminal Law covering wilful act or omission offense (including participation and attempt), as well as negligent commission offense. Students work in groups and apply the acquired knowledge to a case study immediately after each lecture. The learning objective for Procedural Criminal Law is to give students an overview of core structures and to selectively depict certain problem areas illustrating the extremely challenging and conflicting interests that are encountered in criminal proceedings.
